Susana Mata transfers to contemporaryity the pictorial conception as an essential search that ignores the superfluous, the narrative, to deepen into sensations and memories deposited in an image.

Volumetric bodies, wide ranges of colors that oscillate between earthy and vermilion, cerulean and turquoise, build scenes in which the Cezannian symmetry is twisted. Harmony succumbs to the dynamic force of the diagonals; Peaceful subjects (swimmers, sleepers ...) are subjected to biased planes that take us in paradoxical scenaries. Activities such as painting, nap or diving in the water are excuses to retreat in oneself. Scenarios in which the figure is isolated, even in company.
